We live to develop on many levels, searching for the best version of ourselves. Each of us has certain qualities that make up our character and personality. Strengths and weaknesses. For centuries, people have looked to nature and the animal kingdom for inspiration. Their natural strength, instincts, have always aroused admiration in a man who is the highest representative of living beings and is characterised by incredible ambition. Building this inner strength is often based on finding our strongest qualities in order to use our full potential.
Green de Roja
The idea of finding the best version of yourself has guided Roja Dove in the creation of the brand's latest fragrance APEX. Something very different from what I have come across from this brand before. It's certainly a nod to a new, broader (and probably younger) audience. It's an incredibly universal scent that combines freshness (a hint of citrus with tangerine in the lead, along with a sweet pineapple) with a sophisticated green depth. Another thing that draws attention is a completely different bottle, packaging and marketing cover, from which you can see that it was extremely labour intensive (have you seen the promotional video?).
The base traditionally contains a rich cocktail of heavier notes, but in my opinion, earthy and balsamic notes such as fir balsam, earthy patchouli, wet sandalwood, green notes (cypress, oakmoss) dominate here. The elements of leather, florals and incense are a little less noticeable, but they are definitely present. The whole results in a smooth composition, where it is really hard to distinguish individual notes. The fragrance is extremely masculine with good longevity and projection. The trick of Roja Dove was to create maybe not a completely unique fragrance, but definitely a modern fragrance that fits the chypre group, with a delicate climate of men's perfumes from the 90s.
This makes APEX a fragrance worthy of attention and I like it as an everyday scent (work or a meeting with friends, for sure).
