Cold as the blade of a dagger, warm as the sun setting behind red dunes. Khanjar takes us to Oman in a second. A proud and dignified symbol of manhood. A word that is not just a word, but a statement that is inseparable from Omani cultural heritage and describes the "J"-shaped Omani dagger, the national symbol of the Sultanate of Oman.
An extremely rich composition, in which a long list of notes creates something that you can not pass indifferently, because Khanjar smells amazing. Of course, there was oud, which sounds natural with all its consequences and is well perceived, brightened by citrus notes (bergamot and orange). This fruity, floral power and delicate saffron-flavored acidity transforms over time into a more direct woodiness, for which the aforementioned oud is responsible, as well as cedar and sandalwood, surrounded by leather, musk, ambergris and vanilla. Still, it surprises us with the sublime sweetness of tonka and praline.
The drydown of this fragrance is addictive, it seems to be much darker than the opening and more subdued. Opening up for less experienced noses can prove to be a bit of a challenge.
