Do you like movies? Chemical Love is a perfume inspired by the movie "Scarface" with Al Pacino (one of my favourite actors!) as Tony Montana who arrives in Miami as a Cuban refugee. I get that Miami vibe and there is something dangerous and addictive in this scent that you cannot be indifferent to, maybe because of the cocaine accord that I am dealing with for the first time.
I do not like the word "chemical" in fragrances because I love natural smelling, raw, ingredients, but here that term is used perversely and metaphorically. Of course, there is something "chemical" in this harsh and sparkling opening, but you still cannot be afraid.
Luca Maffei is a master at showing contrasts, creating a fragrance that is simultaneously warm-sweet (vanilla, resinous elemi, bailey's cream) and bitter-cold-metallic (cocaine accord, orange, orange blossom), harsh in the opening and smooth in the drydown (woody and vanilla).
Suitable for both men and women, slightly leaning towards feminine, with good longevity and moderate sillage.
