One of the fragrances I have enjoyed reaching for in the last few colder weeks is Le Phenix by Michel Almairac. In my opinion, it's a versatile unisex fragrance, although it's more in the masculine direction. Warm, slightly ambery and dry.
The warmth of cedarwood surrounded by papyrus with an incense accent, while the very subtle spiciness of cardamom and the juiciness of ginger. The cardamom adds a green note along with patchouli and papyrus. The whole rests on a soft musk and amber base. The result is a very creamy, almost buttery, cosy (but not bland) composition that may not bring you to your knees, but is a pleasant scent to wear.
The brand itself is very interesting, as Les Bains is first and foremost an iconic place on the map of Paris (now a nightclub and a 5-star hotel) with a very rich history, where world-class artists and personalities have met and continue to meet. Each of the fragrances in this series is in some way related to the history of this place and Paris itself.
