Fragrance description

"The darkness isn't so bad, when you're surrounded by warm light of the stars."

S.Shyam

After Antares (see my July post), Betelguese, and Mismar, it's time for Tistar, the new star in the universe. Tistar is the latest hot release from In Astra Fragrances, which I discovered last year. The brightest star.

It's not easy to describe this fragrance, but what I know right away that it shares the brand's DNA, a commonality with previous creations. It reminds me of a magical night in a dense coniferous forest under the starry sky. Although there are green, woody and even earthy elements here, their combination with a citrus-floral accord is also surprising.

Most noticeable, especially in the top notes, are the citrus (yuzu and pink grapefruit) and aldehydes, although they do not have sharp edges, but are rounded out by rhubarb and the combination of mint and eucalyptus leaves, which together give a green and medicinal feel. The heart of the fragrance is a lavender accord with peony, which I think complements the aforementioned soothing green notes by highlighting aromatic details while opening up new elements.

The focal point of this fragrance is the base, which consists of the intense balsamic aroma of fir balsam and luminous musk, complemented by earthy accents of a slightly spicy nagarmotha.

I am not a fan of aldehydes or musks (in large quantities), but this perfume managed to captivate me and I think it's worth a try. Well done!
