Dominant note
This is not an ordinary fragrance and obviously not for everyone. Sometimes it is a real compliment. This is something of an abstraction, an unexpected fragrance created to shock, intrigue and play with contrasts. When we think of aldehydes, our memory says: some heavy, soapy, cold, classic vintage scents. In Not a blue bottle, you'll find airy, metallic aldehydes presented in a modern way that lightens up the scent. They are surrounded by bitter electric oranges, that are not too bright or juicy, but rather creamy and mild. I think the patchouli is the dominant note here and everything works around that ingredient. It's a kind of silky patchouli that I know from the previously reviewed Lalique Hommage À L'Homme Voyageur (I get the same vibe but without the acidity), mixed with some fluffy musk and warm and honey-sweetened amber that enhance the whole composition and evoke coziness that lasts a very long time.
Histoires de Parfums has created an unusual and very interesting unisex fragrance that I like more and more the more I wear it and that you would like too, but please try it first.
