Floraïku is a beautiful French brand owned by Clara Ferré Molloy and John Molloy, the founders of one of the best niche perfume houses - Memo Paris and Hermetica. The entire collection is dedicated to the culture of Japan, the importance of its traditional rituals and nature. Perfume as a Poem (Haiku) - that's how it started.
One Umbrella for Two is a fruity-green fragrance inspired by Ô Cha, the Japanese ceremony dedicated to matcha and is built around just three notes: blackcurrant absolute, Genmaicha Tea and cedarwood. It's sweet and tart at the same time, a fruity gourmand scent with a kind of sweetness I can't get enough of. Blackcurrant is standout note here, it's real, incredibly bright, juicy, sour and vibrant. In short, delicious! Followed by Genmaicha Tea and cedarwood (subtle and not overpowering) that transform the scent to such a unique and complex aroma. When the blackcurrant accord does back off a slight bit, the tea and cedar come out, but the scent stays similar the whole duration. It's the kind of scent that gives you warmth, coziness and peace, or a kind of feeling like you're standing under an umbrella when it's raining more than ever. Such a nice unisex scent, leaning towards feminine, with nice sillage and good longevity.
Today is Valentine's Day, so it might be a great choice to wear on that day. I don't celebrate Valentine's Day too much. There cannot be just one special day to express your love for someone, that is supposed to happen all through the year. Anyway... Have a wonderful day and let's hope that one umbrella will always be enough for the two, because love is always about sharing no matter what!
