Italy is a country very close to my heart. Perhaps for this reason, I am constantly on the lookout for fragrances that take me there. Orange x Santal from the niche French perfume house Essential Parfums is one of those scents that I associate with a sunny Italian morning. Sparkling and lush bittersweet orange opens this fragrance and provides its brightness and joy, while oakmoss brings chypre elements to the composition. A touch of French cypress, along with oakmoss, makes the scent a bit drier, spicier and woodier and also captivates with its boldness and character. I also get a bit of basil, which adds green elements and rounds out the scent.
Where the orange freshness fades, sensual warmth begins. Subtle, creamy and very natural white sandalwood from Australia adds warmth. I associate it with sun-warmed, tanned skin that has been previously embalmed for sunbathing. For me, it's a no brainer for summer, but I love wearing it any time of year. Apparently one of my favs from this brand after Bois Impérial.
