Bohoboco is a brand that shows us that the creation of perfumes is often like a visualization of moments and memories. MichaĆ Gilbert Lach, the founder of Bohoboco, created Olibanum Gardenia in honor of his grandmother. She was very proud of her grandson, who as a young boy was engaged in burning incense during church rituals.
In Olibanum Gardenia you get exactly what the name of this perfume says. The scent doesn't develop much as it mostly sounds similar. However, I do not find this to be a drawback. The titular gardenia mixed with orange blossom is very evident in the opening, which when combined with incense notes (olibanum, incense) makes for an interesting blend that some people might associate with a funeral. However, I think this is a very individual matter. Personally, I like this fragrance a lot. The opening is fresh and lively. Later, the florals become much calmer and thanks to the good longevity we can enjoy addictive, creamy (with hints of sandalwood) and very wearable incense for a quite long time.
I would like to add that as a Pole, I am very glad that there is a Polish brand on the market that makes interesting perfumes and is appreciated abroad as well. I also really like the minimalist design of the brand, especially the discovery set, which is one of the best I have ever seen in terms of appearance (photos in a slide).
