White pepper

Pepper is one of the most widely used spices in the world. It is used to add spiciness and expressiveness to dishes. It belongs to the pepper family. It is a climbing shrub. The fruits from which pepper is obtained are harvested only after three years. It originates from India, but is now also grown in tropical countries. The essential oil is extracted from the berries of the Piper negrum bush. White pepper is a mature pepper that has been soaked in water to get rid of its pericarp and then dried. The smell is citrusy, slightly green, fresh, warm, dry and spicy. A bit lighter than black pepper but white pepper is the sweetest pepper.
