Information
Thai basil is a species of basil native to Southeast Asia that has been bred to give it special properties. Its flavor, widely used throughout Southeast Asia and described as anise- and licorice-like and slightly spicy, is more stable at high or prolonged cooking temperatures than sweet basil. Thai basil has small, narrow leaves, purple stems, and pinkish-purple flowers.
What does thai basil smell like? It is more spicy than normal basil, but still has herbaceous, lemony, green and minty facets.
