Information
Cyperus papyrus is a plant from which writing material is made, but this ingredient is not used in perfumery. The papyrus in perfumes is actually related to Cypriol or Nagarmoth (Cyperus scariosus), which for marketing reasons is better sold under the name of the mythical papyrus. The smell is complex, woody, similar to vetiver, but can also bring to mind the dry, woody aspects we know from Virginia cedar.
