A small citrus tree fruit, not that popular in perfumery like bergamot, maybe because the character of the mandarin is more expressive. Sweet and juicy fresh mandarins can be enjoyed on their own or used as an ingredient in salads, main dishes or desserts.
Mandarin essential oil is obtained by cold expression of the pericarp or fruit wall. The aroma of mandarin is intense, sweet, fruity, juicy, fresh, sharp, tangy, slightly floral, with neroli-like undertones.
