Information

Labdanum is an absolute obtained by extracting the resin of the cistus, i.e. Cistus ladaniferus. It grows mainly in the western part of the Mediterranean and Crete, but not only there. In perfumery it is a very important ingredient, being one of the three main components of classic chypre, along with bergamot and oakmoss. Its role in chypre perfumes is to add depth to the composition in the base, giving it balsamic, floral, animalic and woody aspects.

Its fragrance is warm, sweet, dense, resinous, with animalic, woody, leathery and floral aspects.
