Galbanum is a resin extracted from plants of the Ferula family, Ferula galbaniflua, known as lighter. In ancient times it was used to make incense. These shrubs can reach a height of 1 to 4 meters, have a stiff stem and the flowers are small and yellow. They look a little like fennel. Galbanum essential oil is obtained by steam distillation.
