A fig is a fruit that grows on a tree called a fig tree. This fruit has the shape of a small pear. It has a lot of pulp inside. The flesh of the fig has a golden to red color. The taste of the fig depends on the ripeness of the fruit. Unripe figs are bland, while ripe figs are juicy and sweet. The color of a ripe fig can range from green to dark purple or even black.

The aroma of fig is very complex and multi-layered. That is why this note is also used in perfumes. The smell of figs can be described as fruity, slightly reminiscent of coconut milk, bitter-green and sweet.
