Cypress is a species of coniferous tree in the cypress family. There are about 20 species of this shrub, found in Central America, Asia and Africa.
Cypress is used as an ornamental plant, but it is also used in perfumery and cosmetics. In perfumery, the oil of the evergreen cypress (Cupressus sempervirens) is used. This variety grows mainly in the Mediterranean region. As a fragrance, it goes well with chypre and fougère.
