Information
Crystal moss, also known as evernyl, atralone, and veramoss, is a synthetic perfume ingredient commonly used to build the perfumery base in chypre and fougere fragrances, where it replaces natural oakmoss.
It is a highly efficient molecule and therefore must be used in small quantities. Crystal moss has a scent similar to natural oakmoss extract, which is described as deep, rich, woody, slightly earthy, with notes of moss and earth. However, the scent of oakmoss can vary depending on its concentration and other ingredients it is mixed with in a specific fragrance.
