Aldehydes are a group of synthetic ingredients used in perfumes (the most famous perfume containing aldehydes is Chanel no 5), which significantly changed the history of perfumery.
They are used to finish the composition, add something extra to it, often have a powdery, soapy, clean undertone, and often add dynamics to the fragrance.
